What patient safety considerations have been undertaken?

The data we use determines the number of medical trainees available per specialty per 100,000 of the population, weighted by comparative population need.  We understand that no areas think they are over provided for by doctor numbers. However, the data shows us that the national funding to invest in training is currently disproportionate and the programme aims to align this better. The pace of change has been determined by the local offices to allow time to ensure there is high quality support and education available to the gaining regions and support to mitigate any reduction of post investment in the regions where this might reduce. HEE is committed to advocating for additional training investment to allow all areas to increase investment fairly aligned to population need.
