Midlands Charter wins the BMJ’s Workforce and Wellbeing Team of 2021

We’re very proud to announce that the Midlands Charter, an initiative we have taken forward in collaboration with NHS England and NHS Improvement, has won the Workforce and Wellbeing Team of 2021 at this year’s BMJ awards.

Never before has the wellbeing for our trainees been so vital, both in terms of support throughout the pandemic but also in ensuring their education and training gets back on track after the disruption caused. To win this award is a real testament to the dedication that HEE and our partners have been able to offer during this incredibly challenging period.

The Midlands Charter was created to share wellbeing resources, best practice and celebrate successes. It aims to prioritise the restoration of postgraduate medical education and training impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. It will also establish the blueprint for best practice in postgraduate training for the future.

This is a great credit to the trainees who really took this forward and delivered a large part of the presentation we did to the judges.
