HEE’s approach to recruitment

HEE is committed to fair, transparent, and inclusive recruitment practices. Our interviewer(s) will want you to succeed. Nobody will be trying to trap or trick you. We don’t do “pressure” interviews or hypothetical scenarios. You won’t be asked what type of biscuit you are!

  • The questions you will be asked are to establish if you have the skills, experience, and knowledge to do the job.
  • The interview questions will therefore be related to the competencies of the job and will provide you with an opportunity to describe how you possess these.
  • The questions will be relevant and linked the requirements of the role. The job advert and the job description are a big clue.
  • You will be asked open questions. You are invited to provide examples.
  • You can choose how to respond. You can give examples from your current or previous jobs, or even your personal life.
  • If you are genuinely stuck, you can ask to move on and come back to a question later.
  • If you are not sure of something you can ask the interviewer to repeat or clarify the question.
  • You will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
  • The interviewer will explain the next steps in the process
  • You will have the opportunity to receive feedback, whether successful or not.
