Recruitment is a sales process

You could be perfect for this role, but we need you to show us in your application and at interview why.

People often fail to get the job they want because they don’t recognise that a recruitment process is a sales process. Nobody ever got a job given to them out of the blue without first putting some effort into selling themselves to a potential employer. The job market is a competitive place and people who take the time to prepare, communicate and present themselves effectively have a much greater chance of getting what they want.

Think of it as a two-step process, with a different objective at each stage.

  • Your goal of the application process - is to get an invite to interview.
  • Your goal of the interview process - is to get a job offer.

You won’t be offered a job on the strength of your application alone. You need to sell yourself at interview. See your application as opening the door to getting that second opportunity.

Section 1 will cover how to complete your application and increase your chances of getting an interview.

Section 2 will cover how to prepare to be successful at interview.
