The Health Education England fellowship programme in the East Midlands is designed to afford doctors in training in the region a range of development opportunities that are fully integrated with their clinical training. HEE fellows can also obtain a postgraduate qualification and additional competencies beyond their specialty curriculum.

The Shape of Training Review published in 2014 recommends that, during their postgraduate training, doctors should be given opportunities to spend up to a year working in a related specialty or undertaking education or medical leadership and management work.
Fellow in Clinical Leadership and Management in Neonatology/Paediatrics
Applications are invited from candidates who have a strong interest in clinical leadership and management. The Fellowship will be for a period of 6-12 months from February 2017. The trainee will continue to work clinically in a subspecialty area of their choice (up to a maximum of 2 days per week).
This 6-12 month innovative Fellowship has been developed to support future service pathways between Obstetrics, Neonatal, Community Midwifery and Primary Care.
The Fellowship will have a strong Quality Improvement focus. The trainee will undertake two main QI projects.
