Patient and Lay Representatives
HEE is committed to ensuring that the patient and public voice is at the centre of what we do. Putting patients at the heart of the education, training and workforce planning process will ensure a better connection between the decisions and investments we make and the quality of care and experience patients.
In the north east and north Cumbria we have an established group of patient and lay representatives involved in a variety of work streams, boards and committees to ensure transparency; robust decision making; inclusiveness and accountability. Their role is to act as an essential bridge between patient representation and us the organisation. The patient and lay representative provide scrutiny and assurance to our work.
