Workforce strategy and plan 2014/15
The North West Workforce Strategy and Plan 2014/15 is built on a transparent process reflecting the needs of the local employers, providers, commissioners and wider stakeholders who are part of the Local Workforce Education Groups (LWEGs) and Local Education Training Board (LETB).
Part of our core role is to provide system wide leadership and oversight of workforce planning and transformation, education and training. We will work to ensure that health and care staff are recruited in the right numbers with the right values and behaviours to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and drive improvement.
We are commissioning more education and training than ever before, with over 3,500 doctors in training and over 3,000 new training opportunities for nurses, scientists, therapists and new and emerging roles to deliver service and workforce transformation.
Both qualitative and quantitative intelligence has been sought from our wider system including professional networks, our hosted functions, higher education institutions (HEIs), clinical senates and the NHS England area teams for the North of England.
