Hearing the Patient Voice in Education and Training
Involving patients, carers, their families and friends in designing and delivering education and training programmes is key to improving quality and ensuring that education and training has the right impact.
We want to recognise the team or individual who has made sure that the patient voice is heard in education and training. This award can be for a specific project or initiative, or because there is an ongoing commitment to include patients, clients and carers in education and training.
The Health Education Wessex goal of Integrated Patient Care describes a workforce designed to meet people’s needs in integrated care pathways which work across organisational and professional boundaries.
Overall themes that the judges will be looking for across all categories, are people and initiatives:
- where workforce development or education and training have made a difference to the quality of services and patient care and service user experience
- who uphold the values of the NHS Constitution; demonstrating care, compassion and respect
- who have worked in partnership across teams, professions and organisations
- which support the development of cultures of learning
