Local Workforce Action Boards
To help ensure health and care services are built around the needs of people in the Wessex region, local providers and commissioners are working together to produce Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STP).
These plans will show how local services will evolve and become sustainable over the next five years – ultimately delivering the Five Year Forward View vision of better health, better patient care and improved NHS efficiency. More information about STPs can be found here
We are supporting the workforce priorities of the STPs through Local Workforce Action Boards (LWABs) which will ensure that the development of the NHS and social care workforce takes place in the right place at the right time with the right people. The LWABs are working closely with health and social care providers and commissioners around the workforce elements of the STPs.
In the Wessex region we are supporting STPs in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and in Dorset:
- The Hampshire & IOW STP area is supported by an LWAB that is co-chaired by HEE Wessex local director Ruth Monger and Sue Harriman, Chief Executive of Solent NHS Trust.
- The Dorset area STP is supported by an LWAB that is co-chaired by HEE Wessex local director Ruth Monger, Patricia Miller, Chief Executive, Dorset County Hospital NHS FT and Charles Summers, Director of Engagement and Development for Dorset CCG
