Local Workforce Action Boards
To help ensure health and care services are built around the needs of people in Yorkshire and the Humber area, local providers and commissioners are working together to produce Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STP).
These plans will show how local services will evolve and become sustainable over the next five years – ultimately delivering the Five Year Forward View vision of better health, better patient care and improved NHS efficiency. More information about STPs can be found on NHS England's website.
We are supporting the workforce elements of the STPs through Local Workforce Action Boards (LWABs) which will ensure that decisions about the NHS and social care workforce take place in the right place at the right time with the right people. The LWABs are working closely with the health and social care providers and commissioners around the workforce elements of the STPs.
How we are supporting STPs in Yorkshire and the Humber:
- West Yorkshire STP area is supported by the West Yorkshire LWAB and is co-chaired by Mike Curtis - Local Director, Yorkshire and the Humber and Dr Ros Tolcher - Chief Executive, Harrogate and District FT.
- South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw STP area is supported by the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw LWAB and is co-chaired by Mike Curtis - Local Director, Yorkshire and the Humber and Kevan Taylor - Chief Executive, Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS FT.
- Humber, Coast and Vale STP area is supported by the Humber, Coast and Vale LWAB and is co-chaired by Mike Curtis - Local Director Yorkshire and the Humber and Michael Proctor - Deputy Chief Executive, York Teaching Hospitals NHS FT.
