New website brings health careers to life

9 November 2015

Health Education England is inviting visitors to explore the new Health Careers website. The website has been designed to provide the ultimate user-friendly experience and brings together the very best content from the NHS Careers, Medical Careers and PHORCaST (public health careers) websites.

Professor Ian Cumming, chief executive at HEE, said:

We are very pleased to launch the Health Careers website as it helps people to better understand the right skills and values needed for a career in the NHS, medicine and public health. With detailed information on more than 350 roles in health and a number of real-life stories and videos, the new site is an important tool for anyone interested in starting or developing their career in health.

New tools include a personalised homepage based on the user’s interests as well as a comprehensive course finder which lists more than 1000 courses leading to a career in health.

Other features include:

  • a ‘compare roles’ tool enabling users to compare bite-sized information on up to three different roles
  • a ‘related roles’ function so users can explore roles similar to the ones they are interested in, but may not have considered or even heard of before
  • an events calendar for information on career related events across the country such as university open days or careers fairs

It has been designed to be compatible with all browsers and devices, including mobile phones and tablets.
