Free webinar series March 2015: Supporting Safe Transition of Internationally Educated Health Professionals to the NHS (IEHPs)

4 March 2015

Internationally Educated Health Professionals (IEHPs) continue to make significant, valued contributions to the provision of high quality patient care in the NHS. Yet, adjusting to working in a complex healthcare system and living in a new cultural environment can be challenging. While many IEHPs will be able to adapt without notable problems, evidence suggests that others may encounter significant challenges during initial orientation, which often extend to the early years of clinical practice in the new context. Educators and supervisors in clinical practice are ideally placed to help IEHPs make transitions more smoothly and successfully, with better outcomes for all.

This series of webinars is linked to the domains of the HENCEL Framework for Supporting Safe Transition of IEHPs, which was launched at the highly successful conference held in November 2014. The framework, podcasts and associated resources can be found at: http://www.lpmde.ac.uk/professional-development/iehp

These interactive webinars will outline key issues for educators and IEHPs to reflect on and will consider practical strategies that can be used to more effectively support IEHPs’ adjustment and orientation to the NHS. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to an online discussion, share experiences, and post their questions.
