General practice nursing ten point action plan

27 July 2017

Professor Simon Gregory, Director and Dean of Education and Quality, Midlands and East said:

Development of the primary care workforce is a priority for Health Education England and we are pleased to be working with NHS England and other partners to deliver this General Practice Nursing ten point action plan.

Earlier this year we commissioned the General Practice Nursing Workforce Development Plan – Recognise, Reform, Rethink. Together with promoting the importance of general practice nursing, the report provides details of potential issues and provides recommendations to support and develop the workforce. Through implementation of this report we aim to ensure general practice nursing remains a vital component of the primary care workforce of the future.

We are committed to this action plan and contributing towards a sufficient and sustainable general practice nursing workforce in primary care, to deliver effective and high quality care for patients now and in the future.
