Health Education England confirms £42m will be invested in expanding its Nursing Associate programme

14 March 2019

Professor Lisa Bayliss Pratt, Chief Nurse, Health Education England said:

“Nursing Associates are proving to be an exciting and valuable addition to the Nursing Workforce, they are having a real impact in the delivery of care to patients up and down the country.

“The £42m investment underlines our commitment to this important role and to working with system partners to further boost numbers. It means we will have a further 7,500 trainee nursing associates in place by 2020 which is fantastic news for patients and those they care for in hospitals and local communities.”
