Health Education England's statement on the latest GMC report - The State of Medical Education and Practice in the UK

Health Education England welcomes the latest State of Medical Education and Practice in the UK report from the GMC.

The information and insights are helpful in guiding HEE’s collaborative work with the GMC to ensure high quality medical education and training.

There are important messages about the increasing pressures on doctors. HEE has been working for some time on our Enhancing Junior Doctors Lives work with a wide range of key stakeholders such as the BMA, Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and NHS Employers as well as the GMC, and on our wider Medical Education Reform programme which will help address some of the key issues raised.

We look forward to developing this work further in response to the forthcoming Long Term Plan.”
