HealthTec Thames Valley launches

HealthTec Thames Valley had its official opening on Friday 20 October and showcases the new experimental learning facility located at Buckinghamshire College Group on the Aylesbury Campus site.

The facility, funded by Health Education England Thames Valley, brings health and education together to create a fresh environment and a different proven way of learning, whereby students can immerse themselves in interactive ‘real life’ simulation scenarios in specially constructed sets, which mirror everyday experiences in the workplace in the health and care sector.

With over 350 career opportunities available in the NHS it is hoped that students using the facility will learn the useful practical skills and gain an insight into the different experiences available.

The centre was officially opened by the Major of Aylesbury, as well as speeches by Buckinghamshire College Group Principal, Karen Mitchell and Juliet Anderson, Assistant Director for Workforce Strategy and Transformation at Health Education England, Thames Valley.
