HEE celebrates the achievements of its 2020 Graduates

The impact of the graduates and students who took part in Health Education England’s popular Graduates and Student placement scheme has been marked with a special celebration event.

The 20 people who took part were joined by HEE Chief Dr Navina in an event focusing on their learning, achievements and proudest moments working at HEE over the last 12 months.

600 applicants applied to take part in the 2020 HEE Graduate and Student Placement Scheme, which provides an opportunity to gain 12 months of invaluable work experience with a national NHS body. along with support access to a dedicated manager to track progress and explore potential future development opportunities

The graduates were placed in a variety of roles across HEE in both regional and national functions including Human Resources, IT, Communications, Management Development and Finance.

Dr Navina Evans, Chief Executive, Health Education England said:

“I would like to thank you all for your hard work and important contributions over the last year, it has been a real pleasure having you at HEE. 

I am so thrilled that some of you will be remaining with us or have gained roles elsewhere in the NHS. Those of who are returning to university I hope you have gained new skills that will stand you in good stead for your future careers in the NHS.”

A surprise video was put together for the Graduates and Placement students. which showed positive feedback and comments on the students from managers and colleagues.

12 of the placement students will be returning to their university in September to complete their degrees. Eight are applying or have been appointed into jobs with HEE, two have secured roles within NHS with one doing a nursing while the other is joining the Academy for Healthcare science.

The 2021 HEE Graduate and Student Placement Scheme has grown in popularity and has seen over 1400 people apply to take part. Twenty-Four placements offered to begin working in with HEE between now and September 2021.
