HEE confirms indemnity costs cover for GP trainees

Professor Simon Gregory, Primary Care Lead, Health Education England said:

'I am very pleased that we will be able to continue to fund personal indemnity cover for GP specialty trainees. The advent of state backed indemnity for General Practice is very welcome and will do much to restore General Practice but GPs must have the additional cover.

‘HEE has provided a number of incentives to help continue our drive for record numbers being recruited to GP specialty training. We are now able to maintain continued provision of these indemnity arrangements for trainees beyond 1 April, ensuring further support for this important part of our workforce.’
