Health Education England has worked with partners to produce a pack of new resources aimed at easing student doctors into Foundation training and supporting them during the programme.
It follows HEE’s review of the Foundation Medical Training Programme, which resulted in a number of recommendations to improve support for trainees, educators and the wider system.
The pack, launched on June 25, contains information and guidance which will help new doctors as they start their training in August, as well as those currently in the Foundation Training programme.
The pack contains seven elements:-
• Shadowing guidance;
• Foundation Charter;
• Beyond Foundation web link;
• Introduction to e-Learning for Health;
• SDT time information;
• Information on the HEE Foundation Conference.
The resources will be of value to doctors in training, supervisors and educators, NHS Trusts and GP Practices.
Professor Sheona MacLeod, acting Medical Director, Health Education England, said: “We are confident these new resources will ensure trainee doctors are better supported, and will in turn help lead to a higher-quality service for patients.”
The pack is now available here:-
It will also be distributed widely via key stakeholders including NHS Employers and the British Medical Association.
