HENCEL announces research fellowship scheme for 2nd year

8 July 2015

Four one-year fellowships are available for pre and post-doctoral nurses, midwives and allied health professionals who want to pursue a clinical academic career path.

Health Education North Central and East London (HENCEL) is delighted to announce that it has commissioned the NIHR CLAHRC North Thames to run a research fellowship scheme for a second year. Clinical academic research and the development of clinical leaders is an essential aspect of healthcare innovation. This scheme aims to develop a cadre of nursing, midwifery and AHP clinical researchers who have clinical influence locally and more widely to ensure that practice is of the highest possible quality and supported by a robust evidence base.

This fellowship scheme is aimed at nurses, midwives and AHPs who already have some research experience, and would benefit from support to build on this and take their academic career to the next level.

Fellows appointed to this exciting scheme will be seconded to the CLAHRC, four days a week for one year from January 2016. Fellows will receive support from a senior academic to develop an application for external research funding by the end of the fellowship. HENCEL will contribute to the costs of the secondment.

For detailed information on the fellowship, eligibility criteria, and the application process, please visit the CLAHRC North Thames website.
