London Workforce Hub supporting response to Covid-19

27 March 2020

NHS England and NHS Improvement and Health Education England in London have worked together to this week open the London Workforce Hub which is focused on supporting our frontline providers. The hub is coordinating the significant numbers of people who are offering to help support NHS services in London through the national call to action and other similar activities to attract health workers to support services during this crisis.

There are calls to bring back staff, the emergency registration of clinical learners and a range of medical workforce initiatives as well as the redeployment of staff which needs to be carefully coordinated to ensure these staff can support the NHS in the right place as soon as possible. This new workforce hub will streamline the process in London to deploy these essential additional staff in the battle against coronavirus.

Lizzie Smith, London HEE Regional Director is leading on this vital activity for the capital and is working in collaboration with the NHS across LondonThe hub will also work in partnership with colleagues staffing the new NHS Nightingale Hospital where there is also a need for additional people.

If you work in the NHS or are a retired NHS employee and would like to support this essential work then please email LondonWorkforceHub@hee.nhs.uk
