Top national award for Health Education England Non-Executive Director

22 October 2019

Jacynth Ivey MBE has won the compassionate and inclusive leader category at this year's prestigious National BAME Health and Care Awards.

Jacynth chairs HEE’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee, working with staff from across the organisation to develop and deliver HEE’s EDI strategy.

Commenting on the award win, Sir David Behan, Chair, Health Education England said:

My warmest congratulations to Jacynth on this well-deserved award.  She plays a key role in helping HEE to take forward the important equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.

I am delighted that her commitment to this key area both at HEE and in her role at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has been recognised in this way.

The National BAME Health and Care Awards is a national award for recognising achievement by BAME staff and improved services for BAME communities. The awards also recognise achievements in areas of multiple discrimination that are often very marginalised.

The award ceremony was held in London last week (17th October).
