Improving practice placements

Through our contracts with universities and placement providers we can ensure the quality of learning opportunities for students

Practice Learning Facilitators (PLF) work across disciplines and organisations, they maintain and generate placement opportunities, develop new models of placement learning and support quality assurance processes.

In Yorkshire and the Humber the Practice Assessment Record and Evaluation (PARE) website has been developed to support the quality assurance and capacity of practice placements.

The functionality available includes placement profiles and audits, a mentor/practice educator register as well as student evaluations. Students can access information about their future placements and can complete an online evaluation via computer or mobile device. The evaluations are immediately accessible online by all relevant staff in the service provider organisation (placement staff, service managers, practice learning facilitators etc.) and by the education provider staff (link lecturers, course leaders, personal tutors). All information can be used to assist with contract management including professional, regulatory and statutory (PRSB) activities.
