Expression of interest for ACP apprenticeship approved
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) apprenticeship is another strand of work linked to the ACP programme, representing a collaboration between Health Education England (HEE), Skills for Health and employers.
The national ACP Steering Group is pleased to announce that employers submitted an expression of interest to the Department for Education (DfE) to develop an apprenticeship standard for the ACP role.
DfE have given approval to develop an apprenticeship standard covering the ACP occupation. An employer-led group can now come together as a 'trailblazer' to develop an apprenticeship standard and accompanying 'end-point' assessment plan. The emphasis will be to ensure this becomes a multi-professional standard providing an apprenticeship opportunity that can be deployed widely across the healthcare sector.
Next steps and further information will be provided on how employers can get involved to support the development of the ACP apprenticeship standard. More information is available from the DfE website.
Government reforms in England are giving employers greater control of apprenticeships. For more information visit the Skills for Health website.
