Digital and learning in healthcare

It essential to understand how staff in healthcare currently learn before piloting, recommending and making decisions around how to encourage learning about digital capabilities.

As a result we  commissioned research that could benchmark the healthcare workforce against workforces in other sectors. The key points from the data we gathered can be seen summarised in the infographic found in related documents.

They focus on how:

  • Healthcare staff are driven by a variety of motives to keep learning
  • There are barriers to technology enhanced learning which should be explored
  • Staff in the healthcare sector exactly mirror those elsewhere in finding working in collaboration with other team members the most supportive/useful factor in their learning.
  • Healthcare staff use their work computers slightly more than the average employee and use their own computer at home significantly more than others.
