The 29 NHS-funded library services in the South West, Thames Valley and Wessex are local gateways to high quality information and sources of expert help and guidance.
The services on offer include literature searches, information skills training, information alerts, document requests and book loans. The libraries have multi-disciplinary collections of books, reports and journals, computers and printing / copying facilities, and quiet study space. Many provide access for staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Health Education England working across the South West, Thames Valley and Wessex provides funding to the trusts which host the library services, and is responsible for monitoring their quality. We support service development through central investment in infrastructure, knowledge systems and staff development, and by facilitating collaborative activity.
