Ophthalmic Medical Practitioners

This statement notifies existing Ophthalmic Medical Practitioners (OMPs) that the central list of OMPs will be transferred from the British Medical Association to The Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).

HEE commissions administrative services to support the operation of the Ophthalmic Qualifications Committee, who approve the relevant qualifications and experience of doctors who apply to be recognised as an OMP.

If you are a doctor who has previously been approved as an OMP, your data held on the central list of OMPs will be transferred by October 2022, for the purpose of undertaking a cleansing and verification exercise.

If you wish to have your data removed from the list and deleted, please contact the AHCS by email at oqc@ahcs.ac.uk.
