Planning and commissioning
Here at HEE, part of our core role as an autonomous national body is to provide system wide leadership and oversight of workforce planning, education and training. We are also responsible for commissioning under and postgraduate education, to ensure that we have a workforce in the right numbers, with the right skills, values and behaviours to respond to the current and future needs of patients.
We are responsible for setting up a new education and training outcomes system that can produce the flexible workforce we need to address future challenges, that aspires to excellence in training as well as a better educational experience for all staff, including trainees and students, and is supported by a fair and responsive funding system.Education outcomes framework
One of our four core functions is ‘allocating and accounting for NHS education and training resources and the outcomes achieved’.Financial planning
