Opportunity to join the South West Learner Council
20 April 2023
The NHS England (NHSE) South West Workforce, Training and Education (WT&E) are looking for nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, health care science and allied health professional (AHP) students to become members of the South West Learner Council.
Council members will be given the opportunity to represent the student voice on contemporary issues, challenges and successes relating to their education and future careers. Aspiring members will benefit from leadership experiences and will work closely with representatives from NHSE, healthcare students across the region and other important stakeholders.
The council will work inclusively and collaboratively by adopting a shared decision-making and non-hierarchical approach where everyone’s views and input are equally regarded and valued. The council will be a safe space to generate ideas, consider solutions and facilitate two-way sharing of information between council members and NHSE south west WT&E teams.
If you have, or you know someone who has, the passion, commitment, and motivation to improve student learning and placement experience and the future for careers in the NHS, complete the expression of interest today.
Contact england.southwestlearnercouncil@nhs.net for further information.
“Student councils are vital to ensure that learners' voices, ideas and experiences shape and support the ongoing development of training and education.”
Dr Rachel Tims, Senior Workforce Lead (WT&E)
