Call for photographers to capture images of general practice

21 January 2016

Budding photographers who work in GP surgeries are being asked to take part in a challenge to capture images that illustrate a typical day in general practice.

Health Education England (HEE) wants to create an online book of photographs to highlight an otherwise unseen snapshot of life in in 2016 and are calling on healthcare staff to send in images of their working life.  The images could also be used in advertising materials.

The aim of this initiative is to capture the realities, rewards and emotions of a typical day in general practice, from those who understand it best. It will to bring the world of general practice to life through a set of images that illustrate the diverse nature of the work that goes on through the eyes of those who support the many medical needs of people up and down the country.

Those who wish to take up the challenge should email hee.primarycare@nhs.net for an entry form.

Representatives from HEE, the National Association of Primary Care (NAPC), the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), Allied Health Professions and The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) will be on the selection panel to judge the entries.

No images will be used in the final book without the full consent of those photographed.

The challenge is open from 20 January until 11 April 2016.
