Call for evidence on supporting older people with mental health issues

As part of the development of a new competency and career framework in older people’s mental health, Health Education England (HEE) is looking for examples of good practice across the NHS, as well as other service areas and disciplines.

The framework will provide healthcare professions with guidance on the skills they need to provide high quality care. 

To submit evidence visitors to the Call for Evidence website page can complete a form and send examples of documentation to mentalhealth@hee.nhs.uk.

Contributors are asked to include a description of the example (service, practice, intervention etc.) and a brief explanation of why they consider it to be good practice.

HEE is looking for examples of supporting older people in: 

  • The impact of common ageing-related issues (e.g. retirement, bereavement, becoming a carer, etc.)
  • Mental health
  • Physical health
  • Participation in meaningful activity
  • Relationships
  • Poverty
  • Community and the environment
  • Discrimination.

Chosen examples of evidence can be anonymised on request. HEE will be will be in touch if the evidence will be included in a final report.

The call for evidence will close on 31 March 2018.
