Diabetes project scoops award

3 July 2017

A project helping people with type-two diabetes (T2D) has won praise from public health professionals.

The South Gloucestershire Diabetes Prevention Pilot Project (SGDPP) presentation won join best poster at the recent Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Conference in Telford.

The project was undertaken in partnership by University of West of England and South Gloucestershire Public Health with the support of Health Education England.

The schemed aimed to help people in South Gloucestershire at risk of developing T2D make intensive lifestyle changes through a tailored and coordinated programme of support.

A six-month follow up of those who took part showed significant improvements in many areas of health.

The poster will be displayed at the FPH office for the next 12 month and is available on the UWE Research Repository.
