Professor Wendy Reid, Medical Director and Director of Education and Quality, HEE, said:

“We are pleased to hear from the Royal College of Physicians that revised offers for ST3 posts will be made this afternoon following the earlier error. We expect that the majority of these offers will be acceptable.

I do not, however, underestimate the ongoing distress and frustration that this is causing. It is also likely that there may be a few individual personal cases where a particular offer requires further examination and this will need to be carried out either by Health Education England or other national education bodies.
