Jane Cunningham is recognised as a future leader

23 June 2017

Dr Jane Cunningham, Leadership Fellow and Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Specialty Registrar here at Health Education England, received formal recognition of her leadership talent when she scooped this year’s Women in the City Future Leaders Award, sponsored by ICAEW and HSBC.

Announcing the winner in front of a full-house at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, Dan Howlett, Head of Large Corporates UK and Regional Head of Client Coverage for Europe, HSBC, said that Jane stood out for her clarity of vision, intelligence, boldness and balance.

On receiving her trophy and personal development prize – a complimentary place on ICAEW’s Women in Leadership Programme – Jane Cunningham said;

I’m overwhelmed to have won such an amazing award, especially given the high calibre of the other women nominated. I am absolutely committed to making the most of the fantastic opportunities that are associated with both the award and a place on the Women in Leadership Programme. I will embrace the tremendous responsibility that comes with this award to support and empower female colleagues in all professional spheres. I'd like to thank Susy Stirling and the Future Leaders programme for all the opportunities it has brought.

The Future Leaders Award formally recognises women who demonstrate leadership qualities. The standard of candidates was outstanding and the judges announced six finalists, selected from the shortlist of ten candidates for the Women in the City Future Leaders Award 2017.
