A Level results

Health Education England congratulates everyone on their A Level results today. But what happens if you didn’t get the results that you wanted? Please don’t panic our Health Careers team are here with all the information you need to help you with your next steps. There are so many options available especially if you want a career in healthcare.

Some of the options include:

  • Applying for an NHS course through Clearing
  • An NHS apprenticeship
  • A ‘gap year’
  • Re sitting exams

Professor Wendy Reid, Interim Chief Executive, Health Education England said

“Huge congratulations on getting through this past very difficult year, no matter what your A Level results are today we want to help support you to understand the wide variety of opportunities out there in the world of work and in healthcare. There are numerous routes into jobs with the health service, and I encourage you all to keep thinking of the NHS as part of your future career planning.”

It's never too early to think about your future career and the huge range of careers in the NHS will inspire you with clinical and non-clinical careers to choose from. You could work on the front line on a ward or never see a patient face to face and still make a difference to people's lives.
