Library and knowledge services - the powerhouse for NHS education

2 August 2016

Healthcare Library & Knowledge Services are a powerhouse for education, lifelong learning, research and evidence based practice, and are available to ALL NHS staff.

Across the East of England there are 21 Library & Knowledge Services (LKS); for details on your local East of England Health Library visit www.eel.nhs.uk and find out how the LKS can help you.

Training is available at every library on how to search databases and access online resources, to help with research and to support evidence-based practice. Help with registering for an Athens password to access online resources is also offered.

All health and social care staff, including non-clinical,managerial, administrative and clerical staff, and students on placement, are welcome to use whichever of the EEL libraries is most convenient to them. EEL covers Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire

Library services are available to all staff working within the NHS, regardless of whether they work within an NHS Trust or within the community.

Have you registered to access a range of journals and databases to support your evidence based practice? Click here to register.

If you’re already registered, log on here to access a range of journals and other electronic resources. There are a core set of resources available nationally and each LKS will have resources for the population they serve. If you need help in searching for evidence, to inform your clinical and non-clinical decision making, contact your local LKS or try out our eLearning tutorials.
