Northamptonshire delegation visit Norfolk and Suffolk WP to share best practice

8 January 2016

On the 7th January 2016 a delegation from Northamptonshire visited Norfolk and Suffolk Workforce Partnership in Norfolk for an informal workshop on our Practice Based Learning pilot projects. The delegation received presentations from our practice and HEI partners currently implementing the Collaborative Learning in Practice and Practice Based Learning in Suffolk initiatives across the area. The group then met with pre-registration nursing students and mentors currently working within this programme to gain further insight.

The workshop was very well received with Lisa Gammon, Practice Learning Facilitator from Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust stating;

On behalf of myself and my colleagues I would like to say thank you for facilitating a well organised and informative workshop yesterday.  We all found the day very informative and productive, and thank you for sharing your project and excellent practice.

Could you also thank the practice teams that took the time out of busy work schedules and presented to us, their innovation and passion shone through, and I felt they provided a balanced view of the successes and the challenges faced when implementing the work based models in the acute, community and mental health settings.   It was also great to hear the student voice with regards to their experiences.  The synopsis presented in from the detailed evaluation data with regards to the implementation of the project by the University was also clear and very informative.

As a group concerned with Northamptonshire student practice learning we have organised to meet in the near future to consider how to move forward in adopting the principles of the models that your partnerships in the East of England have lead the way in developing.
