Secondment opportunity - Clinical Fellow in Nursing/Midwifery

Do you have/are you...

  • A registered Nurse or Midwife
  • BSc/BA or equivalent
  • Current registration with NMC
  • 1 or more years' experience post registration experience in any sector of practice
  • Good knowledge of current healthcare system including delivery of safe effective healthcare services; and

An opportunity has risen for a 12 month secondment within Heath Education England (HEE) for a Clinical Fellow in Nursing/Midwifery (John Burdett Fellow).

You will be exposed to high level interaction and decision-making within HEE and develop an understanding of healthcare policy, education and training reform, leadership, management and delivery. You will gain an understanding of the delivery and formulation of end to end education and training. As the Clinical Fellow within HEE you will have the opportunity to work closely with a variety of HEE delivery teams across England and the new Commissioning for Quality programme of work. You will also be receiving training and professionally led mentoring coupled with opportunities to work across all of HEE.

The Clinical Fellow forms a part of a larger annual Fellow intake into HEE spanning both medical and non-medical professions.

As the Clinical Fellow - Nursing/Midwifery (John Burdett), responsibilities are expected to include;

  • Gain knowledge of existing Nursing and Midwifery work programmes across Health and England incl. Shape of Caring.
  • Contribute to the  programmes of work taking the lead on agreed subjects
  • Explore the opportunities  for international partnerships to share best practice and raise the profile of nursing and care in England
  • Develop the understanding of  Clinical Academic Careers including the development of a spiral curriculum
  • Contribute to and gain knowledge of nursing and care workforce supply and planning;
  • Contribute to work programme to consistently described Advanced Practice across non-medical professions.
  • Undertake Ad Hoc duties as advised

Please be advised that the interview for this position will be held on the 6 October in Birmingham. As a part of the interview, you will be required to deliver a short presentation on How does HEE strengthen the education, training, research and leadership opportunities for the nursing and care workforce at local, regional, national and international interfaces. This will be in form of a PowerPoint presentation up to a maximum of 10 slides and no longer than 10 minutes.
