Health Education North West supports World Mental Health Day with two Laughology sessions

10 October 2013

Laughology is a unique and innovative system which uses the psychology of laughter and humour as a personal development tool. The links between humour, laughter, health and well-being are well-researched and Laughology uses this solid scientific data as a basis for its methodology.

While we are born with the innate ability to laugh and with the capacity to process situations using humour, it is a skill that can be learned, honed and utilised in a number of ways. An individual’s sense of humour is developed in a number of ways, for example through others people’s influence and how we feel about situations.

Health Education North West is supporting World Mental Health Day and the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our staff by holding two Laughology sessions at our offices in Manchester and Liverpool.

The interactive and informative one-hour presentation introducing Laughology as a way to think and act in a more positive way to improve communication and engagement skills and create happy and productive teams. This interactive workshop will offer techniques to understand how to use laughter and humour in a positive way in the workplace. Helping individuals to stay in control be solution focused and help themselves and others to feel and think better.

The session will also have stalls at the events with advice leaflets on how help to cope with normal day to day issues that can sometimes be overwhelming.
