Health Education England responds to new CQC report ‘Beyond barriers: how older people move between health and care in England’

3 July 2018

David Farrelly, Regional Director, Midlands and East, Health Education England, said:
‘We recognise the specific issues that the report raises around recruitment into health and social care and the need for greater co-operation and collaboration, particularly at local level. We need staff with the ability to move seamlessly across traditional boundaries where required to ensure that the patients of the future get appropriate, high quality care when and where they need it. We are looking to support this work through our Local Workforce Action Boards (LWABs) and our Workforce Strategy for the NHS being published later this year will take a joint look at staffing needs across both health and social care.’
