HEE staff recognised in New Year Honours list

Congratulations to David Stewart, Gareth Hynes and Professor Wendy Burn who were recognised in the 2021 New Year’s Honours List.

  • Head of Library and Knowledge Services David Stewart was awarded an MBE for his services to the NHS and voluntary services information management.
  • Gareth Hynes a Specialist Registrar and the co-chair of the Trainee Physician Committee for HEE Thames Valley Deanery received an MBE for services to medical education during COVID-19.
  • Professor Wendy Burn who is the former President of The Royal College of Psychiatrists and one of our clinical advisors received an CBE for services to mental health services.
  • Asha Thomson, a former Leadership Fellow and now the Chair of The Midlands & East Dental School Fellowship Alumni, has been recognised with an MBE.

Dr Navina Evans, Chief Executive, Health Education England said;

“Huge congratulations to each and every person in this year’s Honours list who work in health and care.
