Health Education England celebrates International Women’s Day

8 March 2022

Health Education England is marking International Women’s Day by celebrating the diverse work of the organisation’s Women’s Network.

Three-quarters of all NHS staff, and two-thirds of employees at HEE, are women. This year, the theme of the day is ‘Break the Bias’.

Dr Navina Evans, HEE chief executive, said: “At the end of the day, where men often still have the majority and the power in senior roles, we need to find a way to bring everyone on board and onside.

“I think the voices of men are so important in bringing about this change, and I am so proud of all the men in HEE who are allies and take the time to learn, speak out for women’s rights and ensure women’s voices are heard.”

HEE’s Women’s Network provides career mentoring and support circles for a wide variety of issues affecting women, including fertility and maternity concerns.

Events are being organised throughout March as part of Women’s History Month, with colleagues of all genders invited to take part.
