Year 3

Over the past two years, Health Education England has supported the development of eight pilot sites to explore the development of the EST in new areas to both improve workforce provision and enable improved provision of surgical training.

To further advance this important transformative work, HEE ran a targeted approach in October 2022 with a small number of Trusts who, after reviewing the most recent GMC and HEE’s National Trainee Survey data, we felt could really benefit in receiving funding and being part of not only a pilot, but an EST community in the longer term.
