NHS Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES)

The NHS Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) aims to provide measurable and meaningful indicators of equality performance within an NHS organisation, from which they can develop and improve.

The main purpose of the WRES is to:

  • Help local and national NHS organisations (and other organisations providing NHS services) to review their data against the nine WRES indicators.
  • Produce action plans to close the gaps in workplace experience between White and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) colleagues.
  • Improve BAME representation at the Board level of the organisation.

Health Education England is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce. It is a vital part of our ambition to make HEE the Best Place to Work.
