Approved suppliers list - National Provision
Pharmacists who meet the eligibility criteria can apply to the university of their choice if the university provider is listed below. Cohort start dates and mode of delivery vary, so select the university that matches your preferences. As part of the application process, all learners will need to assure their chosen university that they meet the course requirements.
Pharmacists must be working in England.
This training is available for Pharmacists working in multiple sectors including:
Community Pharmacists, Pharmacists in GP and Health and Justice Pharmacists

This is for:
- Community pharmacists (including locum pharmacists)
- Pharmacists employed in General Practice (who are not eligible for, or enrolled on, the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway) and those who are working to provide primary care services (for example, working in primary care) who are not employed in ARRS roles, and Health and Justice pharmacists
Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP)
Pharmacists who meet the eligibility criteria should apply for authorisation via the CPPE website, PCPEP independent prescribing section. Authorisation is provided to the learner and personalised with the chosen University and date.
This is for:
- Pharmacists enrolled on CPPE’s Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP) who meet the PCPEP criteria to enrol on an Independent Prescribing Course.
NHS Managed Sector*
*Funding for NHS Managed Sector for North West and North East and Yorkshire is not included in the national provision. Access for funded places will be via the usual commissioning routes. - Pharmacists working in an NHS Hospital Trust or Mental Health Trust (NHS managed sector) and pharmacists working in an integrated care bord, ICB (previously CCG pharmacists)

Funding
Independent Prescribing (IP) training is available to pharmacists who meet the eligibility criteria and is fully funded by NHS England (NHSE).
NHSE will only fund the course fees for eligible pharmacists at the universities outlined on our website. These providers were selected through a competitive tendering process.
