An NHS England OpenAthens account makes accessing a wealth of knowledge resources to support evidence-based healthcare and continuing professional development available through a single sign-on.

An OpenAthens account gives you access to the following resources:

  • BMJ Best Practice
  • Over 7000 journals from databases like Medline and Embase
  • A collection of eBooks (including the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine) giving you access to a range of clinical, continuing professional development and leadership titles, as well as a diversity and inclusion collection
  • Access to e-Learning for Healthcare

To apply for an OpenAthens account visit https://openathens.nice.org.uk and register using an email address ending with nhs.net or nhs.uk

A confirmation email will be sent to your email address. You will need to click the link in that email to complete the registration process.
