New allyship network for trainees passionate about equality

22 March 2023

EDI network news

The east of England is looking to build a new allyship network of trainees who are passionate about improving inclusivity within the region’s training programmes.

The network will be led by trainees in-order to utilise their unique position to explore the breadth of issues around inclusivity, and the impact they have on their learning.

Network members will lead the development and implementation of projects aimed at improving equality, diversity and inclusivity across the region.

Trainees with ideas to improve equality, diversity and inclusion practices in their trusts and the wider training network are particularly encouraged to join, as well as those looking to support this work.

There will be opportunities for developing generic portfolio-based competencies, as well as the chance to present at regional meetings. Involvement is a great opportunity to develop leadership, quality improvement and educational skills. A certificate of leadership will be provided to all trainees who are involved in the network for up to six months.

As the NHS becomes increasingly diverse, it is important that every trainee feels valued for their whole selves, whilst being supported to meet their personal and professional goals in a learning community in which they feel a sense of belonging and feel able to bring their whole selves to any learning environment.

If you would like to join the allyship network, please complete a short web form.
