Careers lead wins prestigious award

Gemma Sinclair is our careers lead in the north east and her work focusses on foundation doctors. She works with them to support their career management through delivering teaching sessions on their professionalism curriculum and offering one-to-one career guidance appointments. Gemma is working on a longitudinal research project looking at the impact and value her careers input has on the career awareness, confidence and decision making of our foundation doctors. This ongoing project was entered for the CDI award for ‘Research Undertaken by a Careers Professional’ and we are pleased to announce that Gemma and the project were crowned winners.

The Career Development Institute (CDI) is the single UK wide professional body for everyone working in the field of careers. Each year the CDI hosts the UK Careers Development Awards to identify and promote excellence in career development, celebrate and generate a sense of pride in the career development profession and raise the profile of career development and the CDI. 

Gemma has also being invited to write a regular article about the project in the Career Matters publication and showcase the research at the CDI’s research conference later this year.
