NW Endoscopy and Imaging Academies update

The NW Imaging and Endoscopy Training Academies were launched in 2022 and have been successfully delivering a range of courses for NHS diagnostics staff. Both training academies provide a multi-professional training offer at undergraduate and post graduate level. 

The NW Endoscopy Academy launched in early 2022 has delivered 54 courses to 408 staff including medics, nurses and decontamination staff. See a full overview of Academy success and upcoming events in the Endoscopy Academy March 2023 Newsletter. 

The NW Imaging Academy launched late 2022 and has delivered courses to over 100 staff, including CT, MRI, Direct Entry Sonography, Radiographer CPD specialty events and educational courses for trainee radiologists.   

Each academy has had significant investment to upgrade equipment and introduce new training centres to offer staff an enhanced learning experience. The delivery models developed by the North West team and system partners have been praised nationally as being innovative, ambitious and deliver on the ambition of the Mike Richards Review for diagnostics.
