Regional Clinical Placement Expansion Programme update

Our NHS England Workforce, Training and Education Placement team held the Clinical Placement Expansion Programme (CPEP) Good Practice webinar with our seven Integrated Care Systems to celebrate and share some good practices from their projects this month.

The team has been working with partners across the south west in the last few years to support the CPEP project to increase clinical placements in the region and support growth in Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions.

Approximately 70 people attended the webinar, including students and learners, education leads, placement providers, universities and anyone involved in placement expansion.

Attendees were able to hear first-hand the successes of the CPEP project and examples of best practices were shared throughout the webinar.

Presentations, importantly including some from students, covered the following themes and projects:

• student experience
• long arm supervision
• social care and GP placements
• children’s services placements
• flexible placements
• how CPEP has changed system working and innovative clinics.

The event also provided NHS England with an opportunity to thank everyone involved in the CPEP project for their incredible work throughout.’
